Finally, I found a stand that would fit into my kitchen. I found this castaway from the thriftstore:

Someone else's junk will become my treasure.
First I washed the stand to see what I had. Not all the marks were dirt and scratches, some marks were cigarette burns. I used a heat gun to remove the paint on the two shelves of the stand. Then, I sanded it to find some nice wood, which I later stained and varnished. I sanded and painted the legs to match my kitchen.

It is amazing what people will discard.. the lockmaster at Davis goes to the dump at least 1ce/week he has found some treasures that Wendy refurbished for the cottage.. for John[ lockmaster] it is the thrill of the hunt.. for Wendy it is the thrill of what lurks beneath.. there is always a project on the go when I visit.. good work Marlene.. looks beautiful..
When I recognize what you have done and what I see, I feel in awe. I feel excited. I feel assured over and over again about doing anything with you!
I love your work. So perfect the way you take nothing and make it so very beautiful!
I would be so grateful if I only had your patience and ability to do what makes you such an awesome individual.
Congratulations on a lovely piece of work!!
Love, Reb
