{"id":11962,"date":"2020-12-30T04:44:57","date_gmt":"2020-12-30T11:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/melacey.com\/blog\/?p=11962"},"modified":"2020-12-30T04:56:15","modified_gmt":"2020-12-30T11:56:15","slug":"choc-sdbundt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/melacey.com\/blog\/carousel\/choc-sdbundt\/","title":{"rendered":"Chocolate Sourdough Banana Bundt Cake Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>3 c flour<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 c cocoa powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp baking soda<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 tsp sea salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c coconut oil, softened<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 c honey or agave<\/li>\n<li>1 3\/4 c sourdough starter, unfed<\/li>\n<li>1 very ripe banana<\/li>\n<li>1 c apple sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 large eggs, beaten&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>4 tbsp yogurt<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c nut milk<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1 c mini-chocolate chips or crushed walnuts (opt.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Frosting<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 c yogurt, warmed&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>1 c chocolate chips<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Grease and flour Bundt pan and set it aside. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Position oven rack in the middle position.<\/li>\n<li>Blend dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium mixing bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Use mixing bowl to combine the oil and honey, then add the sourdough, banana, apple sauce, eggs, yogurt, milk, and vanilla; blend well.<\/li>\n<li>Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients; stir just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the batter into prepared Bundt pan.<\/li>\n<li>Bake, rotating halfway through, until a tester comes out clean, 35-40 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Cool the cake on a rack for 15 minutes. Use a chop stick to pry edges of the cake from the pan; invert and tap on the bottom of the pan to release the cake; remove pan. Invert the cake; cool completely and then place it on a serving plate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Frosting<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Warm the yogurt at a low power in the microwave.
