I spent an hour picking raspberries today. I learned that the more picking I do, the more I understand the plant. It doesn’t matter how well or poorly I pick, the experience of picking teaches me the best way to go about it. I learn by doing and learn my lessons well: colour, where, how the berries are bunched, where on the canes the berries hide; I get a \u00a0feeling of when to look again, gauging growth and ripening time from past picking experiences. When I am fearless, I learn the most. If I am too afraid to move a branch, I won’t find the hidden gems. A fearless look beyond the obvious is where I can find the hidden fruit \u2014 often the largest, juiciest berries.<\/p>\n

People are like plants. The more people that I meet and the more experience that I have with them, I learn the best way to go about dealing with them. It doesn’t help to be fearful of some personality types. If you look at a particular personality and only see what is wrong, your perspective can blind you from seeing their light. Peace comes with the patience to see the beauty \u2014 in you, in things, in everyone.<\/p>\n

There may be people in your life who do not challenge themselves to see beyond your exposed self,\u00a0 picked raw and empty by all that brushes by. Don’t give up. Root and nurture yourself with<\/p>\n
