Honouring Mothers<\/h1>\n

Mother’s Day<\/h2>\n

Like the Burmis Tree, mother you
\nare our sentinel, our landmark, our muse,
\nour reminder that love endures.<\/p>\n

Like the leaves of the tree, we may no longer flutter
\nattached to our original branch,
\nbut we do remember our grounding.<\/p>\n

You may be like the trunk of the Burmis Tree
\nwith arms still reaching out
\nas you wait to hold us close, once again.<\/p>\n

While you may feel like barren wood
\ntoo easily toppled by the storms of life
\nor surgically attacked
\njust know we are still near.<\/p>\n

We will be like the wire,
\nhelping to restore your stance
\nto resupport your outstretched arms.
\nFor our memories are filled
\nwith your touch, your words, your caring.<\/p>\n

You will always be our first love.
\nYou remain the root of our life,
\nthe bliss beneath all that we do.<\/p>\n

We will reach back and wait
\nwith our own open arms,
\nto hold you close
\nno matter how far or wide we roam.<\/p>\n
