There are many things one can journal:
- nature
- reading
- daily
- dream
- life
- creative projects
- feelings
- wine
- travel
- gratitude
- fitness
- record keeping
The thing about making any kind of journalling is to date your entries. Here’s what I do to automate that task.
With a Windows PC, I use the Notepad accessory so often, that I pin it to the Start menu to make it easily accessible. That way, I can quickly make notes for any of my writings. With Notepad, dating an entry is easy: press the F5 key. Date and time are entered with that one simple keystroke.
If you are using MS Word 2010, the date and time can be entered using the Insert menu Date and Time choice where you can set the format for the entry and it will be made for you.
As usual, keyboard shortcuts are available:
- Alt+Shift+D: Insert the current date into your text. This command inserts a content control into your document — text that can be updated.
- Alt+Shift+T: Insert the current time into your text. This command inserts a time field, which can be updated, just like any other field.
