A 50th Anniversary of Coulee Commentators Toastmasters Club was celebrated on May 10, 2014 in Lethbridge Alberta at the Galt Museum. As Division G Governor, Rochelle Anderson (my daughter) was invited and she honoured me by asking me to attend as her date. This was a special day for both of us as it was her birthday and marks the date that I first became a mother.
Rochelle has enjoyed being involved in Toastmasters for five years and for me to be able to join her in something that she clearly loves and has become very involved in, excited me.
Rochelle came down from Okotoks for the celebration. Here we are at my Lethbridge home just before setting out for the celebration.
The celebration honoured founding member, William (Bill) Brown. Bill Brown has also been a long time member of the Lethbridge Naturalists Society (LNS) where I had first met him when I was a guest at one of the LNS executive meetings.
As part of the program, Rochelle, as Division G Governor, gave a 5 minute message.
It meant a lot to me be able to participate in an event that celebrates an organization that energizes and sparks passion in my daughter. It was a bonus that the event was wonderfully catered by LA Chefs at the beautiful Galt Garden Museum and was celebrated on my daughter’s birthday.
Members from a variety of Toastmaster groups were there to celebrate. Rochelle introduced me to key people in the organization and even managed to persuade me to try out a Toastmasters group in Lethbridge.
