Sunflower Love

There is a heat wave here in Lethbridge and many other municipalities. Being out in the garden can feel like one is directly in front of a burning fireplace which did not need to be lit. Our sunflowers seem to love it though and are letting us know as shown by the picture below which was taken by my partner, Alan.

Sunflower Love 2020
Love, from our sunflower garden.

When living in a COVID world brings despair from the continual solitude, our garden not only feeds our body, it rejuvenates our spirit and inspires. Alan, known to have a sense of humour, asked me if I planted this particular one, for it bears my signature.  From further away, the plant is the second of our row of sunflowers to show its head, as shown below where my signature isn’t visible.

From a distance, it is not so inspiring.

Below are a few more pictures. Come back and watch for more garden posts!
